ZDF specializes in insert molding - a complex two-step injection process that allows a high level of precision and the combining of metals with the plastic components.
ZDF has extensive experience and ability in the injection of unusual materials, injection of products on metals and the use of all existing raw materials on the market.
ZDF also specializes in building molds according to client requirements.
 

Research and development

ZDF's Research and Development Department includes materials engineers, mechanical engineers, designers and technologists and can provide a comprehensive development solution for the manufacturing process and products. ZDF's expertise and many years of experience allow it to reach optimal results efficiently and quickly.
The plant engineers help the clients to match the types of plastic material and the right technology for the unique needs of each product.

THE PROCESS

PLANNING: ZDF has a "technology-driven" planning process which works in tandem with the product's design process. In cases when a client arrives with a pre-designed product, the Development Department provides "Plastic Proofing" that allows the product to be matched to its manufacture by injection and select the raw material suitable for it.

Design: ZDF's development team also includes product designers who enable handling of the product from early concept development and innovative ideas, with well-informed insights into advanced plastic technologies. The designers closely accompany the formative characterization phase of the product, which dictates the aesthetic outcome, the interface with the user, the product's uniqueness and its important significances.

Prototype: On finalizing the planning process, ZDF's Development Department handles the production of a three-dimensional prototype, which will allow testing of the product's features using geometric, functional and visual models. The models are produced according to customer requirements using a variety of technologies ranging from rapid prototyping to machining using CNC.

MOLD PRODUCTION: Advanced automation and ZDF's many years of experience in the field of manufacturing molds for injection enables it to produce and provide its clients with excellent quality molds allowing continuous and prolonged industrial production. The staff in the development department accompany the entire mold production process from design to final approval. Each mold is comprehensively and thoroughly inspected by ZDF's development team in the mold factory, prior to it being approved and introducing it onto the production line.

Primary production: The development department continues to track the product and the client even after the mold has received approval for implementation of the product and its delivery to the production flow. The approval of a primary production series takes place while working closely with the client. The product moves from the Development Department to production assembly only at the end of the approval process.
